Well, I am most assuredly still a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nothing will ever change that. However, my ideas about my level of activity in the church when I start college have changed. Before, I wasn't quite sure if I'd stay fully active. Now, there is nothing that will keep me from staying fully active, and true to the faith.
I now acknowledge that Christ is my Savior and Lord, the only way to heaven. I've been reflecting quite a bit today. Yesterday, I wasn't quite sure that I believed what Brett Harris was saying about not being able to change ourselves. However, I remembered the scripture John 6:44, which says "no man can come to me, except the father, which hath sent me, draw him." Well, God definitely drew me to Christ yesterday. I recognize the truth of that scripture as I never did before.
So, now, I continue to go to church, but with a renewed faith in Christ. I will live my life as a disciple of Christ. I will do hard things, even if it goes against the crowd, or is hard. I will rejoice in doing hard things, especially when it means suffering for doing right. I will do the right things because of my love for God, and because I trust him, want to please him, and not just because I know I should.
Also, I have a renewed desire to study the Bible -- not just for the Bible Bee, but because I want to know more about it. I've read the Book of Mormon many times through, but never the whole Bible. I'm going to create a schedule so that I can finish it by the first day of the bible bee registration deadline next year. I'm also starting a new blog, "Praise His Name", where I can post insights that I learn.
Well, that's My Crazy Life!
