Iceskating Fun

So, today I had a massive study session with a couple of my friends. We're all competing in the National Bible Bee (2.5 weeks away!!! AHHHH!) After we were done studying, we went ice-skating.  Before we left, my friends brother, inspired by my "for Narnia" experience, dared me to do the same thing, ruler and all, except sliding on my stomach at the ice rink.

Well, I was once again in a crazy mood, and so I agreed.  Once I got to the rink, I saw some of my other friends.  I decided to wait to do this until they were in the rink.  As soon as they started walking in, I did it.  Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly the best timing, so I had to do it again -- this time as they were coming around the first curve.  As they stared at me, dumbfounded, I stood up, and just laughed.

But that's not all -- it gets crazier.  I've always thought that it was cool how people could seem to fall, and then just slide on the ice.  So, I decided to try.  I utterly failed, but didn't give up.  My friend was trying to show me how to do a lunge, but I kept failing, and ending up sitting on the ice.  Normally, I try to avoid that at all cost, but I was in a crazy mood.  So, instead, I decided to purposely fail at lunging, and go into a slide.  Well, there were some very ungraceful moments, but I got some good slides in.  I even did some more slides, with the ruler in my hand, yelling random things like "FOR NARNIA, AND FOR AMESIANS!!!", or  "TEAM JACOB!!!!"  -- anything that I could think of really.

It wasn't all fun and games though.  Well....kinda...but there were some sad moments due to those games.  We started playing tag.  Now, that can be dangerous even if it's not played on ice.  But, on ice, the danger goes to a whole new level, as I unfortunately learned.  We decided to get the skating guards involved in the game.  So, I started chasing one.  Now, the thing you've got to know about skating guards -- they're the fastest people on the ice, and it's unlikely that you'll ever catch them.  I've been skating enough times that I should've remembered this.  However, I still chased him.  First mistake. He started skating toward the entrance, and I was gaining on him.  However, he made a sudden sharp turn.  I was going extremely fast, and decided to skate to the wall, and then turn around and chase some more.  Second mistake.  I headed to the wall, but didn't slow down.  What was I thinking??? That was my third, and biggest mistake.  Because I was going so fast, I slammed into the fall, hitting my head and my ear.   OWW!!!

Yeah....my head was pounding for a while, and my ear felt like it was burning up, and like I couldn't hear as well.  Of course, my friends asked me how I was.  While I'd been sliding, a couple of my friends had gotten onto me for purposely falling to the ground.  They were saying things like "This is the ground.  Generally people avoid ending up on it." Lol.  Well, after I fell, these same friends threatened to chain me to the skating bench if I fell again.

Well....I'm crazy, so, needless to say, I ignored them.  They gave me the evil eye.....well, I guess I earned it.  =P.  So, yeah...That's My Crazy Life!
